How can i help?

I've thought about this for a while now. And I've compiled a list of things YOU can do to help out gainesvillebands.com.

1) Tell us about shows.

This is probably the most important thing you can do as a band member, promoter, venue owner, or fan. That is what i think keeps this site going and what will keep the site going in the future. Fans are in need of accurate information about upcoming shows. Mostly to plan how to spend their all-mighty dollar for the week. I know that people come to gainesvillebands.com to organize their nights out with friends. It would probably piss them off to make a trip to a venue only to find out the band they wanted to see had cancelled. It is SOOOO easy to let us know about line up changes. Just drop us an email to shows@gainesvillebands.com or put up a post up in the forums. So, keeping us informed is usually the easiest thing to do along with the most important.

2) Spread the word!

This site is a pretty good resource for fans. But it's also a good resource for venues, bands, and promoters. Through a single access point venues, artists, bands, promoters, record companies, fans, the press, and recording studios can finally find each other. Networking is good if you can go to a central place and find everything you want. So in short... here's the deal: you tell people where to find us, and we'll tell people where to find you.

Now there are lots of ways that you, as a visitor to gainesvillebands.com, can get the word out.

2b) Tell your friends

Become a promo whore. It's okay i wont tell anyone. Drop GainesvilleBands.com in conversation...

Bob: "Hey, where do you want to go tonight?"
Billy: "I dont know, Let's check GainesvilleBands.com"

OR

Bob: "Hey, where do you want to go tonight?"
Billy: "Lets go to [insert venue here], I heard on Gainesvillebands.com that [insert band here] is playing."

See how easy that is?

2b) Link to us

I've got a couple of small buttons and a full sized banner image available. You can download them and add them to your site, your friends site, your business site, your mom's sewing circle site. Hell, I don't really care how many places you can put them.

If you put up a banner linking to us I will add your logo to the bands page (more info here)

170x60-
200x40-
468x60-

2c) Put us on flyers

This only counts if you're a band. If you put gainesvillebands.com on your flyer, it automatically guarantees you a consideration for flyer rotation on the front page! (more info about that here). I know what you're saying... "Hey glyph! did you just say 'consideration'?" Yes. But if you know me, I'll put damned near anything up. I only use the legal-eize to cover my butt. If you send me a flyer of a giant penis with "gainesvillebands will screw you at our show" I'm gonna have to pass.

2d) Mention us on stage

This DOES help if you are in a band, but if you jump up on stage and scream "I love GainesvilleBands.com!" or "I got laid at Gainesvillebands.com!" or "I get all my porn at GainesvilleBands.com!" that'll work too. I point this out because a lot of bands out there in g-ville dont have a website, or if they do, it's got more slashes and squiggles than.... something with a lot of slashes and squiggles. We provide a way to get your info to the fans, and let them know of your upcoming shows.
